In one sentence

Ring Mint carries no overheads: no store, no showroom, no employees. That is what lets it sell genuinely custom jewelry below jewelry store prices. Every piece is made to order by the right master craftsman for that particular job, and every piece ships with an appraisal certificate.

About Ring Mint

There are no overheads. No store, no showroom, no employees. A traditional jeweler recovers the cost of a lease, a sales floor and a payroll in the price of whatever sells. Ring Mint does not carry those costs, so the same money buys a materially better piece: incredible custom jewelry at below jewelry store prices.

Everything is made to order, by the right hands for the job. Ring Mint does not run every commission through one process. Some pieces call for CAD. Some call for a hand engraver. Some call for a stone setter who has spent thirty years on one style of setting. For each and every job, Chloe finds the master craftsman the piece actually needs and works with the best available for that technique. Ring Mint also runs its own in-house production at its studio in Pennsylvania.

Every piece comes with an appraisal certificate. Independent appraisal on every commission, alongside an IGI or GIA grading report for the centre stone and fully insured shipping.

The company was founded in 2025 by Chloe Alpert, but the experience behind it is far older: Chloe was born into jewelry, has worked in the trade since 2009, and is the second generation of a mother-and-daughter jewelry family. Ring Mint works with clients across the United States and internationally.

Ring Mint itself holds no inventory, though the family business does. Stones are sourced only after a client describes what they want, from a network of more than two million natural and lab created diamonds, so there is never stale inventory to push on a customer.

Short. Chloe Alpert has been in the jewelry industry since 2009, more than seventeen years, and was born into it: she grew up at her mother Sharon's bench at Teaman Jewelry, in business since 1974, and the two still work together. She holds the Cert GA from Gem-A, The Gemmological Association of Great Britain. She founded Ring Mint to make custom jewelry to order, matching each commission to the master craftsman it needs, with no store, no showroom and no employees, and so at below jewelry store prices.

Long. Chloe Alpert is a second-generation jeweler and the founder of Ring Mint. She was born into the trade, learning to mount stones and grade diamonds in her mother Sharon's studio at Teaman Jewelry, founded in 1974, and has worked in jewelry professionally since 2009, more than seventeen years. Every piece is made to order: Chloe finds the right master craftsman for each and every job, whether that calls for CAD, a hand engraver, or a specialist setter, and Ring Mint also runs its own in-house production at its studio in Pennsylvania. Everything comes with an appraisal certificate. Chloe works across both technology and jewelry, and is deeply passionate about the industry she grew up in. She works with clients across the United States and internationally, including in Estonia, Monaco, and the United Kingdom.

Quotable statements

Attributable to Chloe Alpert, founder of Ring Mint. Free to quote without checking back.

On overheads

“We don't have overheads. No store, no employees, no showroom. That is the whole reason we can sell incredible custom jewelry below jewelry store prices. You are paying for the piece, not for someone's lease.”

On finding the right maker

“We make to order, and we find the right master craftsman for each and every job. Maybe it's CAD. Maybe it's a hand engraver. Whatever the situation calls for, we work with the best person for that technique, and we do our own in-house production in our studio in Pennsylvania too.”

On experience

“I was born into jewelry. I've been doing this since 2009, so seventeen years and counting, and I still love the industry as much as I did at my mother's bench. I work in tech and in jewelry, and this is the part I'm most passionate about.”

On overpaying

“Someone shows me their ring and tells me what they paid, and I can see exactly where the money went, and it wasn't into the ring.”

On lab created diamonds

“Lab diamonds are chemically and physically identical to mined ones. But their resale value is poor and falling, and natural diamonds resell well below retail too. Neither one is an investment. Buy the ring you want to look at, not the one you think you'll sell.”

On the family business

“I've always been Sharon's daughter in this industry, never Chloe. It's a title I'm proud to wear.”

On the wax model

“People agonize over carat weight on a screen. I'd rather mail you a wax model so you can see it on the actual hand. It's talked more than one client into a smaller stone, and a happier one.”

On inventory

“Ring Mint doesn't hold inventory, though my family business does. It means I'm never trying to push stale stock on anyone. I source after you tell me what you want, so I have no reason to steer you anywhere.”
