Three custom lab-grown diamond necklaces for wedding gifts, around $900 each
A client needed three diamond necklaces as wedding gifts for the mothers and a sister. They had been seeing retail options between $2,000 and $3,500 per necklace.
We started with CAD, sourced the diamonds, and finished all three necklaces in our Pennsylvania studio. Each features an approximately 6mm round lab-grown diamond, D or E color, VVS2 clarity, and an individual IGI grading report.
Two necklaces are in 14k yellow gold. One is in 14k white gold. The client’s price: around $900 each, or approximately $2,700 for all three.
Three coordinated gifts, with a choice of gold
The brief was a set of gifts for three people close to the wedding. A diamond solitaire necklace gives each recipient the same simple design, while the choice of yellow or white gold makes room for individual preferences.
We kept the focus on a single round diamond in a four-prong setting. Two pieces use the warmth of 14k yellow gold; the third pairs the diamond with 14k white gold.

First, the CAD design
We began with CAD images of the necklaces, including the setting from the front and side. These views show the structure around the diamond before the finished piece exists.
The CAD images are design references. The bench photographs below show the actual finished necklaces.
Then, sourcing the lab-grown diamonds
For this commission, we sourced three approximately 6mm round lab-grown diamonds. Their color grades are D or E, and all three have VVS2 clarity and individual IGI reports.
Those specifications describe the stones selected for this order. A photograph can show the appearance of a necklace, but it cannot establish a diamond’s color grade, clarity, or identity.
We describe the size in millimeters because that was part of the brief. Approximately 6mm refers to the diamond’s diameter; it is not a carat weight. Each stone’s exact weight and measurements belong on its individual report.
Finished in our Pennsylvania studio
After CAD and sourcing, we finished all three pieces in our Pennsylvania studio.

What the client is paying—and what replacement value means
The client’s price is around $900 per necklace, bringing the three-piece commission to approximately $2,700.
Before coming to Ring Mint, the client reported seeing retail necklaces priced between $2,000 and $3,500 each. That was their shopping context, rather than a documented comparison of identical pieces with matching specifications.
My retail replacement valuation is $2,000 per necklace. That is a separate figure from the client’s purchase price. It is not a resale offer or a promise of what the necklace would fetch if sold.
